How do I get notifications?

Overview

This guide explains how users can receive notifications in RDrive based on subscriptions, and automation rules.


  • Purpose: To help users understand how to receive updates about items they’re involved with.
  • Who It’s For: General users, project admins.


Prerequisites: Access to items in RDrive and appropriate permissions.

Situation-by-Situation Instructions

Situation 1: I want to get notified about updates on an Item I'm involved in

  • Navigate to the desired item.

  • Click the dropdown menu.

  • Select Subscribe to start receiving notifications for status changes and updates.

Situation 2: I want to subscribe other teammates to an Item

  • If you have the required permissions:

    • Open the item.

    • Click the dropdown menu > Subscribe.

    • Add or remove users in the dialog.

    • Confirm to save your changes.

Situation 3: I want notifications to be triggered by automation

  • Project administrators can configure automation rules that automatically subscribe or unsubscribe users based on the item's status.

  • Example scenarios:

    • Auto-subscribe the responsible party when an item changes to "In Progress".

    • Unsubscribe users when the item is marked as "Closed".

  • ✉️ Contact your project admin if you'd like to implement or adjust automation rules.

Situation 4: I want to receive mobile push notifications

  • To receive push notifications on the RDrive mobile app:

    • Make sure the notification permission is enabled in your device settings.

    • Ensure you are logged into the correct project or company.

    • Confirm that you are subscribed to the item.




FAQs & Troubleshooting

I’m not receiving notifications even though I subscribed.
✔️ APP - Check that your device has notifications enabled and that you’re logged into the correct project.
✔️ For email - Please check your email’s junk or spam folder, or contact your company’s IT team to ensure the sender’s domain is approved and not blocked.


Can I receive notifications without being the assignee?
✔️ Yes. As long as you’re subscribed to the item, you’ll receive relevant notifications.


What’s the difference between being subscribed and being assigned?
✔️ Subscribed users receive notifications but are not responsible for the item. Assigned users are responsible.
